John McGillicuddy (b. ca 1810) and Bridget (b. ca 1817) McGillicuddy arrived in New Brunswick from Ireland in 1839 with their newborn son, Cornelius. They settled in York County, then Kingsclear Parish (later name changed to Manner-Sutton Parish). John McGillicuddy was granted land in the Cork Settlement on the Road from Lyon Creek to Garden’s Stream in 1851 and an adjoining tract in 1853 amounting to 100 acres (Lots 11e and 11w).
